Managers: Become Excellent with People

One of my greatest bosses of all time was Rusty Lindquist . A phenomenal human with amazing professional capabilities and some of the richest genuine people skills I’ve ever seen. Here’s Rusty’s Tedx talk.

In my last article I talked about going from average to exceptional. Rusty was not average with people. He was exceptional. Like my friend Kyle, who I’ve talked about in my Pluralsight courses, who makes you feel like you are the most important person on earth.

One of the things Rusty and I talked about (He was VP of Thought Leadership, so we got to talk about a lot of super cool things) was how managers tend to favor one or two of these three things: people, product, or policy/process.
